Without people willing to donate, there would be no new lungs to bring “a breath of fresh air” to those suffering with life ending lung diseases. We at the LTSO are strong proponents of organ and tissue donation because we have seen what it does, not only for lung transplant recipients, but for those who have received a new heart, kidneys, corneas, tissue, etc.
Donation truly is the Gift of Life.
To register in AZ, you can check the box for organ donation registration when you renew your driver’s license or State ID at the Motor Vehicle Department; you can call 1-800-94 DONOR (1-800-943-6667) or you can go to the DNA Donors Network of Arizona site where you will find a registration form and more information about how your donation will help not only here locally, but regionally and nationwide as well through UNOS.
UNOS (United Network for Organ Sharing) is an organization that gathers data and statistics on donation, along with administering the Organ Procurement and Transplantation Network (OPTN) in the U.S.
